Dr. Gaurav D Gandhi

Dr. Gaurav D Gandhi is a young, enthusiastic Cardiologist, currently working as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Sharada hospital which is located opposite ST bus stand, Jamnagar. Dr. Gandhi completed his MBBS and MD (Medicine) from MP Shah Medical College, Jamnagar. He then added the superspeciality DM (Cardiology) degree to his qualifications through UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre, Ahmedabad. He spent five years at the Centre, where he gained experience in clinical, interventional and research work. Then he did ample interventional work in private sector with attatchment of multiple hospitals at ahmedabad. Complete details of his work experience are as follows:  

• MD Resident, Department of Medicine, GG Hospital, Ahmedabad. May 2006 to May 2009. Worked in Kidney Dialysis Unit during same tenure for 3 months.
• Senior Registrar (post-MD), Department of Medicine, GG Hospital Jamnagar. May 2009 to July 2009.
• Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, MP Shah Medical College, GG Hospital, Jamnagar. July 2009 to July 2010.
• DM Resident, UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad. 2010-2013. Received extensive training in intensive cardiac care (pre and post-cath), 2D-Echo with Colour Doppler with training in Tissue Velocity Imaging, TMT and cath lab with EP training in procedures such as coronary angiography, angioplasty, paediatric diagnostic and interventional catheterisation.
• Senior Registrar, post DM Cardiology, UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology, BJ Medical College, Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. Two months.

Dr. Gaurav Gandhi has individual experience of thousands of coronary angiographies and coronary angioplasties (including transradial approach), and peripheral vascular interventions. He has performed hundreds of paediatric diagnostics and interventions such as percutaneous PDA, ASD, VSD closure, BPV, BAV and cardiac cath angiographies with or without oxymetry of various congenital heart diseases. He has done more than 20,000 transthoracic echo with colour and tissue Doppler imaging including paediatric echo and transoesophageal echo. He has a special interest in electrophysiology and in ablation of AVNRT, AVRT.

Dr. Gandhi has contributed to social service activities as well. He provided assistance during a viral fever outbreak in the Kutch area in 2009 and helped in research regarding the epidemic. He worked at GG Hospital Jamnagar during an outbreak of swine flu and served to prevent the spread of it in 2008-2010. He also assisted in the Pulse Polio Campaign from 2000 to 2002 in Jamnagar.
